How to save
Check the discount base before you celebrate
Some "50% off" deals apply to an inflated list price, not the usual selling price. Compare the final figure here against the price you have actually seen the item sell for.
Stacked coupons multiply, they do not add
Two 20% coupons are not 40% off. The second coupon applies to the already-reduced price, so the real discount is 36%. This calculator applies them in sequence so the number is accurate.
Add tax to compare like-for-like
A lower sticker price in a high-tax region can cost more at the register. Enter your tax rate to see the true checkout total before deciding.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How is the final price after a discount calculated?
- Final price = original price − (original price × discount %). For example, 20% off $80 is $80 − $16 = $64.
- How do I calculate two stacked discounts?
- Apply them one after another. Take 20% off, then take the second discount off the new, lower price. Two 20% discounts leave you paying 64% of the original — a 36% total discount, not 40%.
- Does this calculator convert currencies?
- No. Choosing a country only changes how the amounts are formatted (for example $ vs £). It does not convert values or use exchange rates.
This calculator is provided for general information only and does not constitute financial advice. Results are estimates based on the values you enter. Selecting a country changes currency formatting only — no exchange rates or live prices are applied.
